Raen Trading is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Breen, PhD, CQF as Chief Technology Officer, effective 14 April 2025.
Philip will join as a member of the Executive Committee, based in our London office.
In this strategic role, reporting directly to the CEO, Ryan Wright, Philip will lead the firm's global technology strategy, driving innovation across our systematic trading platforms and enhancing our quantitative infrastructure.

Philip brings extensive experience in developing sophisticated technical solutions in financial markets.
Most recently, he served as Associate Vice President and Senior Engineer Manager at T. Rowe Price, where he led multiple teams working across Equity, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset business units.
His background includes groundbreaking research in theoretical astrophysics, including the dynamical evolution of stellar systems and the application of machine learning techniques to problems in astrophysics (anomaly detection, graph-based clustering and scatter predictions).
Prior to T. Rowe Price, he contributed his expertise to DeltaDNA (later acquired by Unity Technologies), the University of Edinburgh as a Postdoctoral Researcher, and Citco Fund Services as a Senior Risk and Valuation Specialist.
Philip holds a PhD in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh, a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF), and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics (First Class) from the University of Edinburgh.
He is also a published author of leading research papers in prestigious publications including NeurIPS and Nature Communications.
